The next Cebu City Marathon will be held on January 9, 2011, the Cebu Executive Runners Club (CERC) said.

“We had more than 4,000 runners last January and with the positive feedback we received, we expect to draw more participants in 2011,” said John Pages of CERC during the launching of the event.

Pages added they are expecting participants coming from Manila, US and Europe.

Although they will still be using the same route as that of the inaugural race, they will be adding the newly-opened one-kilometer tunnel going to the South Reclamation Project (SRP) as part of the route.

“This will serve as a challenge to the runners,” CERC’s Meyrick Jacalan said.
